Privacy-first HEIC Converter
Many online tools require you to upload your personal photos to their cloud servers to convert HEIC to JPG. GoOmniTools uses WebAssembly technology. In supported browsers, HEIC decoding and conversion run directly on your device.
The tool does not intentionally upload photos to GoOmniTools-owned servers to perform the conversion, which helps reduce unnecessary file transfers. Processing speed and capacity depend on your device and browser.
Why are photos sometimes sideways? We fixed it.
When an iPhone takes a photo, it often records the "orientation" in the image's EXIF data rather than physically rotating the pixels. Many simple converters strip this data, resulting in sideways photos. Our tool intelligently extracts EXIF orientation data before conversion and rotates the output JPG accordingly, so your photos always look right.
Frequently Asked Questions
How are my photos processed?
In supported browsers, HEIC decoding and JPG conversion run directly on your device. The tool does not intentionally upload photos to GoOmniTools-owned servers to perform the conversion.
Why is converting large images (like 48MP) slower?
Because the processing is done locally, it relies on your device's CPU. 24MP and 48MP photos require significant memory to decode. To prevent browser crashes, we process images one by one in a queue.
Is batch processing supported?
Yes! You can drop dozens of photos at once. The tool automatically queues them, and you can download them individually or click "Download All (ZIP)" when they are ready.
What is HEIC format and why convert it?
HEIC (High-Efficiency Image Container) is Apple's default image format, saving space without losing quality. However, older devices, Windows PCs, and many websites don't support it yet. Converting to JPG ensures universal compatibility.
